German scholars visit Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine

Three German thinkers active in the field of religions and philosophy came to the holy city of Mashhad for the first time and after attendance to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), visited the Central Museum of the shrine.

Two of the scholars are Orthodox and one of them is a Protestant pastor. On the sidelines of these visits, Rainer Phillip, the Protestant pastor acknowledged, that the visit was “enchanting.”

“We were able to delve into the history of this sacred place. I must say that the spirituality of the Iranian architecture truly brings tranquility,” he said. “The development of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) has been very interesting for us over the years. In fact, the culture and originality of Iranians are remarkable and one must admit that this culture has very deep roots.”

Furthermore, Philip added that during the visit to the museums, three golden-colored altars, which represent traditional and Islamic arts in architecture and tile work were very resplendent and noteworthy since they are built out of percipience and dedication of their makers.

The Center for International Affairs of the Astan Quds Razavi has been in contact with cultural centers in five continents for the past two years on the orders of the General Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi.
