Who to ask for help?

It is narrated that a man from Ansar came to Imam Hussain (AS) to request for help and Imam (AS) told him:

Who to ask for help?

O’ Ansari brother, protect your dignity by not asking for help face to face and write your request in a letter, God willing I will be able to make you happy by my action. That man wrote in the letter: O’ Aba Abdallah, I owe a person 500 coins and he insists on payment, talk to him to give me a respite. Imam (AS) read the letter and gave that man a purse containing 1000 coins and told him: Pay your debts of 500 coins and with the other 500 coins manage your life; and added: And do not ask for help except from three types of people; a devout person, or generous one, or a dignified person. Because a devout person will help you to protect his religion and the generous one will honour his generosity, and the dignified one will protect your dignity and helps you [1].
