What are the characteristics of servants of God according to Imam Ridha (AS)?

Ahmad ibn Amr narrated: We went to meet Imam Ridha/Reza (AS) and said:

What are the characteristics of servants of God according to Imam Ridha (AS)?

We used to be prosperous and had a good life, but now our situation has changed, ask Allah (SWT) to grant us our previous situation. Imam (AS) said: Do you want to kings who have ways and religions which are different from which you have now? We replied: Swear to God no, we are not happy that all the gold of the world be ours, and we do not want to have any other religion apart from what we have now. Verily, (in Ayah 13 of Surah Saba), Allah (SWT) said: “They made him whatever he wanted; palaces, statues, basins as large as water troughs, fixed cauldrons. God said: Work thankfully, family of Dawood (David), for few of my servants are truly thankful.” Because whoever is optimistic about God; God will be with that person with the same optimism. And whoever is satisfied with a small sustenance, small deeds will be accepted from such a person. And whoever is satisfied with small amount of Halal, his/her pack/weight is light, and his/her family is prosperous, and God will enlighten him/her to pains and cures of this world, and such a person will enter heaven safely from this world [1].
